Opening for Griffin House and Thad Cockrell!

I’m Really excited to be opening for Griffin House and Thad Cockrell in Richmond Oct 21st @ the Canal Club. Ive been a fan of both of theirs for some time now. Griffin’s song “Tell me a lie” from his first record is great. And Thad made a duet record with Caitlin Cary that everyone should hear. This is gonna  be a great show.  Get your tickets here!

Dean Fields vs. Ronny Cox

Here’s something special:  ”Pop Culture Rodeo” (Richmond Magazine) pitted our show Friday night in Richmond against Ronny Cox’s show.  *Obviously…Ronny nor I said any of this….But I’m flattered.   And I’m grateful to everyone in our corner who came out to see OUR show Friday night!

Dean Fields at Capital Ale House vs Ronny Coxat Ashland Coffee & Tea

Dean Fields — I’d just like to say that I’m an up-and-coming artist who puts his heart and soul into every song. If you come to my show, you’ll see how a man and a guitar have the power to stir you emotionally. I promise that at least once, you will be moved to tears.

Ronny Cox — I was in RoboCop. And Total Recall. Oh, and also Beverly Hills Cop. If you come to my show, I will sing and tell you stories about famous people that make you feel like part of Hollywood. You want to know what it’s like to share a sandwich with Eddie Murphy? I got stories about Peter Weller and Howie Mandel you would not believe. You’re not going to get that at a Dean Fields show. I was also in Deliverance. And don’t even make me break out my TV résumé. Grizzly Adams?Fantasy IslandFamily Ties? You can’t touch this.

Performance with Second City!

My former teammate (William & Mary Track and Field) and Boston roommate Bryan Dunn is now playing piano for the Improv group Second City out of Chicago IL.  Their travels brought them to The Modlin Center in Richmond VA last weekend on what was supposed to be a weekend off from performing for me.  But, it turned out to be a very special night…  On their 3rd act, they asked me to come on stage and perform a few songs.  The plan was to play a song for them to then improvise a bit.  Its a shame there is no audio/video from it because it was a blast and a very unique experience.  I played L.A, Be Sweet to Me, Dandelion Rain, and On Its Way to You.  What ensued were skits about stalkers, mistaken Itunes Beatles catalog, and prancing jamba juice customers.  These folks make their way around the U.S.  Please do yourself a favor and check them out.
