For the last 5 days I’m growing a beard
Growing a beard for my darling, my dear.
I never asked no opinion of none of yall here
I’m growing a beard for my darling, my dear.

They say ’shave.’
I’ll shave when I want to.
They say ’shave!’
I’ll shave when I damn well want to.
Well…when she wants me to.

For the last 5 days I’m growing a beard
Growing a beard for my darling, my dear.
